To unite and strengthen nonprofits working on local and international poverty alleviation

Vision
To unite and strengthen nonprofits working on local and international poverty alleviation by using universities as leadership platforms and at the same time, to train the next generation of leaders by developing students as catalysts for change.
- Describes the ideal world the organization hopes to create.
- Motivates donors, volunteers, and stakeholders.
- Easy to remember and communicate.
- Focuses on the change the organization wants to achieve.

Mission
To pair states and developed areas with underdeveloped areas using universities as leadership platforms which would connect various humanitarian-based nonprofits in a collaborative fashion. For example, to link New York with South Africa. A local poverty alleviation focus would also be addressed using the same methodology. For example, Impact New York in the state of New York.
- Identify who the organization serves (e.g., underprivileged communities, animals, students, etc.).
- State the broader impact or change the organization seeks to bring to society.
- Mention partnerships, community involvement, or policy advocacy efforts.
How It Works
The Impact initiative starts as a grassroots effort as student organizations linking up with nonprofits that work in the targeted communities. This linkage involves advocacy and fundraising through events and one-on-one presentations. Training for students would include conflict management and cultural sensitivity training. A code of conduct upholding standards of Impact’s values would be required and signed by student leaders and members. Eventually service-learning credits could be taken by students in different departments according to their specialty.
Collaboration with partner nonprofits would be encouraged, and ideas for strengthening or building upon existing efforts would be explored through these

Regional graduate student directors (such as Latin America, Africa, etc) would also be established to evaluate and problem-solve regional dynamics, and these regional graduate student directors would also have a marketing student to work in tandem with them.

A minimum of a one year requirement for all student directors would be ideal with opportunity for renewal based on performance and desire of the student. Impact offers a workshop on conflict management to its members and leaders as well as for interested individuals.

An Executive Director would oversee all student directors, and trouble-shoot and problem-solve the overall vision, mission, and functionality of Impact. Impact leaders are required to respond to the workshop.
Guiding Principles
Conflict Management
Learning about effective conflict management builds character and respectful, meaningful dialogue. Guiding Principles
Transparency and Accountability
We strive to carry out strategy and goals in a clear, direct manner, and to be held responsible for our actions.
Guiding Principles
Cultural Sensitivity:
We treat people in poverty with respect by not defining them by their circumstances but by their intrinsic value. Impact offers a workshop centered on this topic. Furthermore, an educational workshop about the cultural background of the country of interest is required. Impact leaders are required to respond to the workshop.
